| THE BOYCOTT SCANDAL |

| To Whom It May Concern Sistar Sekmet The staff of the Nubian Network It has been brought to our attention that somebody; a person, group or organization is calling for the boycott of certain Black web sites. They are spewing division, venom and hatred, with some kind of thuggish, jail house mentality. They are posting their emotional attacks over the Internet, passing around notes and adding childlike remarks to dvd’s and cd’s every chance they get. We do not know if they are Black, White or Colored, but we do know that they have little information and have no research on the business, situational and political affairs of any of the Black web sites they hope to tear down. The premises of their attacks show no type of class what so ever, are anti-Black and anti-African. The following list is some of the web sites under attack as far as we presently know: Black Consciousness Online Sirius Times LIB Radio Network Tehuti Online Black Town Underground Railroad The Talking Drum Black and Noble Azzaziel Dot Com Tap Video Cultural Freedom and Books Reality Speaks Media Center Positively Black Moorish History and African History on DVD Inner Light Radio Africa Within House of Nubian We applaud all of the sites listed for opening up markets, establishing communication and developing channels so that Black people, our people, have the opportunity to receive information with some kind of diplomacy, not emotionalism. These are sites that put knowledge ahead of entertainment. For too long many of our people have wanted better, more correct education and information about themselves & their situations, but it wasn’t made available to them for one reason or another. These sites managed to break some of those chains and have information flowing like it never has before, benefiting more Black people than ever, in a special, unequaled manner. Not one of these sites is getting anybody rich or showing huge profit margins in their struggle to keep the best information available. The kinds of information they attempt to bring to the public is life saving, being distributed to someone besides small cliques, so that more of our people can understand what is going on around them. The perpetrators, if the culprits are our people, must learn to deal with each other in cooperation, setting aside petty egos and not going into emotional tirades, such as those calling for boycotts and smear campaigns on their own people. We have no idea what their efforts might escalate to, but this commentary is to make the general public aware of the latest disruptive, destructive, self-hating methods being used to stop any flow of information and solidarity to the many diverse minds within the Black community. Somehow they never figured we could be respectful to each other, be organized to unify and defend ourselves. A child must learn quickly when a people are on the move! We encourage you to support these web sites and to ask questions before making assumptions! |
